Why a book, why now

You've Built the Expertise. Now Claim the Recognition.

And yet—when Forbes needs an expert quote in your field, they’re not calling you. When conferences allocate tens of thousands for keynote speakers, your name isn’t on their list. When industry roundtables convene, you’re watching from the outside while others with half your depth get the recognition your expertise deserves.

Something shifts when the business world sees you as a published authority rather than just another entrepreneur. Media outlets want your perspective. Conference organizers reach out months in advance. Clients arrive pre-convinced instead of needing education on every call.

Holly Ostrout standing in her office

Something's broken here.

You've done the work. But the recognition hasn't caught up.

Your results speak for themselves.

But right now, your best work lives scattered across client sessions and content that disappears into algorithm voids. You're re-explaining concepts on every sales call while others claim thought leadership in spaces where you should be setting the standard.

When you transform your expertise into a strategic, Damn Good Book™ that positions you as an industry authority, everything changes.

✦

Premium clients find you already sold on your approach—not shopping around

✦

Speaking fees finally match the expertise you've been building for years

✦

Media outlets quote you instead of overlooking you—because your book is the credential they're looking for

This is where you step into the industry recognition that matches the depth of work you've already created.

The solution

The solution is a book—and you've probably known that for years. You just haven't done it yet because you knew it had to be done right.

And the stats back up your instincts:

96%

of entrepreneurs who write books say it's had a significant positive impact on their businesses.

87%

report their book allowed them to charge higher fees and work with better clients.

76%

credit their book with helping them close more deals.

Books just work. The stats prove it. But there's still something the numbers don't quite capture: the absolute relief of never having to explain yourself, your methods, or your value to a potential client or connection again.

No more walking prospects through your entire methodology on every call. No more justifying your rates to people who don't get it. No more watching someone with half your expertise land the opportunity you had your eye on because they had a book and you didn't.

A Damn Good Book™ handles the credibility work. Clients show up already sold on your approach—they just want to know how to work with you. Conference organizers reach out months in advance because you wrote the book. Partners seek you out because everyone knows your name.

You can copy

someone's marketing strategy
their team
their programs

But you can't fake the authority that comes from publishing a real, Damn Good Book™.

The problem

But most people do them wrong. 🥺

And that means many of the everyday entrepreneurs (coaches, consultants, workshop hosts, and speakers) who write books don’t make money from them, don’t get booked on bigger stages, and don’t see new clients show up because of it—whether they self-publish OR get a book deal.

(For example, the median advance for first-time nonfiction authors who got a book deal was… a measly $6,080. And guess what? You gotta spend that on advertising and marketing! It’s not your paycheck!

But the real problem is these authors don’t make many sales off the backend of their book, either, which makes it hard to build up significant revenue from that book…).

Which is a pretty grim prospect for them after they’ve spent so much time creating that book.

Holly Ostrout's writing desk with a manuscript on screen, a stack of her clients' published books, a coffee mug, and a handwritten to-do list

Here's what I see in nearly every single client's book outlines, manuscripts, and even their book concepts & topics:

1

They write introductions and first chapters that completely ruin their chances of converting readers into buyers because they ramble on for an entire chapter about their "origin story" instead of making their books about the reader, which turns people off, confuses them, or bores them to death. (Nonfiction, like fiction, still has to be entertaining).

How we skip it

Heroine’s Journey & Purpose Points

2

They go too broad and teach to the point of overwhelm and frustrate their readers with the firehose-worth of content OR a book that speaks to the wrong person who isn’t going to buy from you after reading. Your book needs to speak to clients who value your expertise enough to pay premium rates, not bargain hunters looking for completely free solutions.

How we skip it

Strategy Stacks

3

They have no idea how to integrate their compelling stories with their proven frameworks. You've got years of client transformations and personal insights, but turning that into book structure that actually teaches is one of the biggest misses I see. Just because your content works in workshops or with 1:1 clients doesn't mean you know how to write a book that sells both copies AND programs.

How we skip it

Book Mapping

4

They structure their book in a way that their readers can’t actually follow and learn from, like when they use unrelatable case studies or examples, or when they teach content in a way that makes it hard for readers to implement, leading to DNF’d (“did not finish”) books on Goodreads bookshelves which tanks your author reputation before it even gets started.

How we skip it

Heroine’s Journey & Purpose Points

5

They either write a 200-page “sales letter” for their high-ticket program (completely alienating and annoying their readers) OR they give away the WRONG stuff in a cheapo 30-page ebook (leading readers to think they’ve learned everything they need from them).

How we skip it

Book Mapping

6

They try to write a book with ChatGPT, which ends up being a real embarrassment when they’re called out for it (and we all know how important our reputations are—just ask a Swiftie). And when you're building authority in your industry, your reputation is everything. One viral callout can undo years of credibility-building.

How we skip it

Book Mapping + Personal Support

7

They miss the mark on the marketing details and SEO of their book that can make or break their ability to sell high-ticket clients from a book and make money from book sales by picking the wrong book covers, titles, subtitles, descriptions, and Amazon/BISAC categories, leading to flopped launches and disappointing sales. Yes, you can write a GREAT book and still blow it here. 😅

How we skip it

It's usually several of those things. ↑ But not in my world! When we write a book together, we skip every one of these mistakes.

“Holly’s Who You Want in Your Corner”

"If you’re trying to write a book and keep second-guessing yourself, Holly is who you want in your corner. She asked the perfect guiding questions, brought serious expertise on the publishing process, and created a support system that made me feel steady and confident as I moved forward. I left our work together with clarity and momentum."

Freedom-First Leadership & Scaling Coach and host of The Accidental CEO® podcast

Hi, I'm Holly 💜

I’m a book coach for entrepreneurs who are done being everyone’s best-kept secret and want the kind of book that gets them quoted, booked, and remembered.

Books are my jam. I’m an author of four books, former leader of a well-known book imprint (maybe you remember CliffsNotes?!), and I brought that revenue from $0 to nearly $1M in only 12 months.

I’ve got over a decade of experience helping authors plan, write, and publish books that open doors—not just look good on a shelf. And I know exactly how to structure a book so it doesn’t take years of your life.

Holly Ostrout lying on the floor, holding an open book above her face

Because I don't believe in writing shitty books. Or that GOOD books should take YEARS to write...

💜 ...A client who went from only booking local gigs to booking 4-figure engagements all over the country after their book came out.

💜 ...Another client who'd been stalled for over 6 months (and was in danger of losing her high-five-figure publishing deal) drafted her entire book in three days after we mapped it out together.

↖ The deal was safe with my help!

💜 ...Another client who sold out a workshop based on her book before it even launched—with organizers chomping at the bit to buy the book, too.

💜 ...Plus multiple clients making $1K-$5K just in book sales in their first month or two—with steady sales after—while doing very little marketing work once we launched.

Your book should get you results like these, or even better. It shouldn't just exist. It should pay for itself in one or two clients, and then plenty more on top.

“Worth every penny!”

"After eleven book proposals, being sought out by multiple agents and publishers, and seven years of trying to get my book written, I met Holly. Holly’s system virtually ensures that you will not only get your book done, but that it will be done in a way that captivates your reader, agents, and publishers.

As sure as my hair is red, you’ll save yourself time, headaches, frustration, and you’ll get it done right the first time. She’s worth every single penny."

Is this you?

You've built a real business. You're signing clients. You're proving your methods work.

You're ready to write the book that makes you the recognized authority in your space. Picture it:

💭 Your name on the cover of a beautiful book

that people could find at your own local bookshop, that gets quoted in conversations, recommended by peers, and that your future perfect-fit clients can easily buy from a link other than just Amazon.

💭 You stepping onto a stage before an eager audience

who paid to be there, using your book to open doors to collaborations and high-ticket sales before readers even finish the first chapter, and turns sales calls into "how do we work together" conversations instead of rate justifications.

💭 Your business scaling past 6-figures or multi-6-figures easier

and with fewer worked hours because you've created a book cementing your expertise that not only changes lives, but also helps sell 3k, 5k, or even 10k+ programs off the backend, without spending every day on discovery calls.

(And you don't need tens of thousands of followers to make this work—just the right people.)

When your clients are getting results, your methodology is tested, and you're ready to stop being everyone's best-kept secret...

...That's when you write the book that positions you as the authority everyone turns to and brings in the revenue and opportunities that match, bestie

You ready?

“it changed the trajectory of my business.”

"Even if I never ended up with a book, it might be one of the most powerful investments in my business ever because it gave me such immense clarity about what we offer and how we offer it—it changed the trajectory of my business."

Beyond the Book

1

Before you write

Strategy Stacks

Skips mistake 2

Before you write a single word, we choose the exact positioning approach that aligns with your business goals.

Whether you want high-ticket clients, speaking opportunities, digital product sales, strategic partnerships, or thought leadership—your book gets built with that end goal driving every strategic decision. This is how we ensure your book is ready to create the specific opportunities you actually want, not just generic "visibility."

2

Before you write

Book Mapping

Skips mistakes 3 and 5

We start with what you want your book to DO for your business—not what you think should go in a book.

This is how we ensure you get maximum impact and reach instead of another book that sits on a digital shelf. You'll know exactly what belongs in your book versus what stays in your paid programs, so you never worry about giving away too much or holding back so much that the book falls flat, and you'll know exactly what to write where. It's my secret sauce that takes "omg this feels too big" to "ooh, easy as paint-by-numbers."

3

While you write

Heroine's Journey & Purpose Points

Skips mistakes 1 and 4

Your reader needs more than straight information—they need to feel seen, understood, and transformed.

This is the framework, built right into your Book Map outliner, that makes your book impossible to put down, the kind readers stay up late finishing and can't stop thinking about the next day. When your book creates that kind of emotional resonance, it activates them into action. When they feel that deep connection, they don't just finish reading—they become life-long fans ready to work with you.

4

Before launch

Prosperous Publishing

Skips mistake 7

Your book starts working before it even launches.

I show you exactly how to build anticipation, create early buzz, and position your book so when it goes live, you're not launching to crickets—you've got people already excited to buy and ready to work with you.

5

After launch

Beyond the Book

Skips mistake 7

Most authors publish and have no idea what to do next.

I help you build the bridge from book to business—the lead magnets that capture readers, the organic sales strategies that feel natural (not pushy), and the reader funnels that turn "I loved your book" into "I need to hire you" without spending every day on discovery calls.

With me, you don't just write a book.

We build a true, lasting asset that pulls readers toward your offers, then I'm right there with you before, during, and after launch.

“It’s a completely different book than it would have been.”

I have done loads of writing before … but … nothing new was coming out. … I’ve always written the same stuff, right? It’s always the same, and it ends up going to teaching. … And it’s turned out very different. Like the purpose points I now have are really quite different, but they’re so good.

My writing would have been infused by the mess of knowing what I know now. But you untangled it with your brilliant method. … It’s a completely different book than it would have been. … You’re amazing. You’re an utter genius.

Before I had a surface level understanding of it, and now I’m getting a deep understanding of it, which can only come from working with you. … If they want to write a really, really good book, I think they need to work with you, because it draws out deeper connections.

The difference

The thing is, most people write books backwards. ⏪

✕

Most authors

They start with the contents of the book, and then try to figure out how to sell it afterwards.

Respectfully, that’s cray.

✓

With me

And so, that's why when you work with me 1:1 as your book coach, we build your book together with a strategic framework that gives you the structure you need without being cookie-cutter—customized to support your specific goals:

Books are both specialty products and commodity products—but they’re also art!

That means people buy ‘em like they buy toothpaste AND like they buy movie tickets—and so how you package them up and how enjoyable they are, are both massively impactful to a book's longterm sales.

✓

Get more high-ticket clients

✓

Book more paid speaking gigs

✓

Sell more digital products or courses

✓

Sign more big-ticket partnerships

✓

Become THE voice in your niche

Which helps make scaling your business a natural side effect!

What we skip

And we do all of this while protecting you from the costly mistakes that tank most business books:

✕

Spending months of your life creating a first draft that you're really excited about, only to learn when you send it off to an editor that it needs a complete rewrite.

Maybe you've heard it takes a lot of time (that you don't have because, well, you're running a business)—and without a strategic roadmap from day one, that's exactly what happens.

✕

Writing the whole thing and then it doesn't even align to your business or appeal to your ideal clients because the angle wasn't quite right or you didn't fill the right market gap.

Maybe they've told you it's not financially "worth it" unless you get a 6-figure book deal (which is so rare, and yet people are still making money off their books) or if you don't want to do speaking—meanwhile, established authors are generating an extra $50K-$100K annually in opportunities from strategic books.

✕

Having to hire a ghostwriter (which can set you back $13K-$50K for one book—yes, really).

Or worse, piecing it together yourself without knowing if you're giving away too much in the book or holding back so much that it falls flat.

✕

Writing a whole book and never selling a single copy, or landing a single client, or booking a single speaking gig from it. 😞

Maybe they've said you need to already "do speaking" to make a book worth it—but speaking gigs, premium clients, and media features all come from the book when it's engineered right.

✕

Worrying that what you teach changes and evolves too quickly for you to write a book that doesn't become outdated in a year.

And while you're the type who can take good info and run with it, you'd still like to know what you're doing before you jump in so you don't waste time. Don't worry, I've got you covered. We build your book so your core methodology stays evergreen while your delivery evolves.

✕

Publishing a book that gets 1-star ratings and savage reviews about typos and "useless" info.

You've seen all the crap on Amazon, and you know your stuff is worth better than that. You need a book you'll be excited to show off—not one you cringe at two years later when you realize it's full of mistakes.

...But instead, learning how to write a book the right way, getting most of your marketing content ready before you even finish the book so you have less to do once it’s published, and following a proven process that can make it way easier to finish writing your book in under 3 months and have it on shelves in as few as 6.

And doing it all with the deep-breath-releasing confidence that you’ve got an expert in your corner who has published multiple profitable books as a publisher, coach, AND author to help you do this RIGHT.

Good news is I’ve got a proven book writing & publishing plan for you.

“200 sales in week one and an Amazon bestseller badge”

Working with Holly to write my first book unlocked the author I always wanted to be. It was a bucket list dream for me, even before I knew what book I wanted to write. But once the idea finally landed, I was completely stuck on what exactly to say.

The Book Map was the first breakthrough and showed me how to weave my knowledge with excellent storytelling. I wrote my first draft of 53,000 words in just 40 hours.

Holly was with me every step of the way. With her support, we planned a launch that got me 200 sales in week one and an Amazon bestseller badge in multiple categories.

As I sit here, I’m working inside the amazing Book Map on my third book, using the framework that makes writing a book just make sense. If you’re looking for a book coach who cares about your book as much as you do, Holly is the one. Between her process for writing and publishing and her support and hand-holding when you need it, she’s the only one I trust to help my ideas become published books that last forever.

Laser-focused calls

with me about your book

Voice note or text, 4 days a week

Held in confidence

everything you say to me stays with me

Some things are easier to talk through one-on-one. Maybe you want to ask a question about if you should put in that time when you declared bankruptcy at 24 or that time an ex did not treat you well. Or explain why you're worried about giving away too much in your book because you've still got some secret imposter syndrome despite your success. Or admit you're stuck because your stories and frameworks don't feel as strong as you need them to.

Writing a nonfiction book (even business, entrepreneurship, thought leadership, self-help, and personal development books) can feel vulnerable sometimes.

If you'd love to write alongside other authors, that's what my group program, Damn Good Book, is for. Author Alchemy is for the book you'd rather build privately, with me.

So that's why in my 1:1 program, Author Alchemy, you are TRULY 1:1. Not only do you have laser-focused calls with me about your book, but you also get access to me by voice note/text 4 days a week through Voxer. Ask the questions you would rather only ask your coach. Work through the parts that feel vulnerable. Get unstuck in real-time between our calls.

You can feel confident that you have my confidence—I'm holding everything you say to me in confidence. This is real book-creation partnership.

“so approachable, doable, and honestly, exciting.”

Working with Holly has made writing my very first book feel so approachable, doable, and honestly, exciting. As a first time author her tools, maps, and structure have broken the whole process into bite-sized pieces that I can actually tackle and bring together.

And beyond her incredible strategy, Holly is just such a joy to work with — encouraging, smart, approachable, and genuinely invested in the process. I’m so grateful for her partnership and support as I write, publish, and launch my first book this coming February!

“I’ve had people tell me, Bridget, I got your book. I couldn’t put it down.”

When you write a book, you have all these thoughts that are just scattered, right? … It’s like, oh, okay, where do I go from here? … I really believe you can’t do it on your own. I really need leadership, mentorship, coaching, direction.

What hooked me was, you said that as someone reads the book, the narrative needs to change to them. Now they’re the heroine. … And your roadmap, the way you have it all lined out, … you already have the template ready. All you have to do, me, myself, the writer, is fill in those blanks. And then you keep us guided …

I needed someone outside of my circle in that you could give me a perspective from a professional view of what will the reader read? What will keep the reader engaged? … I’ve had people tell me, Bridget, I got your book. I couldn’t put it down. I think I read it until three in the morning and I just finished it.

Having a book coach such as you to keep me on target, respectful of my emotions, and making me feel safe, and that has been key for this process to happen. Because there were times where … I had to take a break, and it’s okay, but you didn’t let me lose the momentum.

The Book Map system is what makes it possible to go from 'I have too many ideas' to 'I wrote a book!' in weeks instead of years. This is the same program that's helped clients draft books in 3 days after being stuck for 6 months. (value: $1,497)

Framework Development & Methodology Refinement

Every tier

Work with Holly to pull out what you should be known for, name your unique approach, and structure your expertise into a methodology that positions you as THE authority in your space. This is what separates 'I have a process' from 'I have a framework people reference and competitors try to copy.' (value: $3,000)

Miscellaneous Masterclasses

Every tier

Access every masterclass in Holly's library plus any new releases during your 10-months—topics like selling high-ticket from your book, landing endorsements, writing page-turners, and more. These deep-dives give you specialized training on the parts that matter most to your Strategy Stack. (value: $300+)

Publish & Prosper Program (Complete Access)

Themis, Holly’s developmental editing tool, showing what it does for a chapter

Themis Access (24/7 Writing Support)

Every tier

Use Themis, Holly's developmental editing tool, to check any chapter against your Book Map anytime—even at 2am. Themis gives you three ranked notes on what to strengthen, shows you the exact paragraphs, and never rewrites your work for you, because doing that thinking yourself is what makes you better at what you do. Run a chapter through as many times as you want before you send it in, so your editor and Holly can focus on the deepest changes. Clients who do this send in much stronger chapters, including clients who never thought of themselves as writers. (value: $1,500)

Each tool handles one step of planning your book, so you start writing with a clear plan. Brain Dump to Heroine’s Journey sorts your notes and stories into the 9 moments of Holly’s Heroine’s Journey and shows which moments still need a story. The Bookshelf Test shows whether a reader could pick your book out on the shelf. The First Page Test checks your introduction’s opening scene, promise, and hook. Comp Scout finds the books your book will sit beside, and Comp Gap Analyzer reads their reviews to find what readers want that those books don’t give them. (value: $1,500)

Pythia Access (Final Whole-Book Check)

Every tier

Pythia is your last check before your manuscript goes to an editor. She’s named for the oracle at Delphi who gave the final answer. Once your revisions are done, she reads your complete manuscript at once and shows you how the whole book holds together, from the first page to the last. You send it to an editor feeling confident about the book as a whole, so the editor can spend their time polishing a book that already works. (Copy and line editing come with Signature and VIP, and proofreading comes with VIP.) (value: $1,500)

Last questions

Common Questions

Your 10-month timeline starts the Monday after you purchase and sign the contract. Right away, you’ll get access to Module 1 of the 5-Star Book Map so you can start working on your book concept immediately. After 7 days, the rest of the Book Map modules and the complete Publish & Prosper program unlock.
Your personal support—Voxer access and strategy calls—starts that same Monday. Once you complete the quick onboarding form, we can schedule your first call and you can start using Voxer for questions and guidance. The onboarding form just helps me understand your book concept, business goals, and where you need support so I can hit the ground running with you.

This setup respects that you’re running a business and need flexibility while ensuring you have expert support from day one when you’re actively working on your book.

Your 10-month support period begins the Monday following your purchase, but if you need a different start date, email me before you buy and we’ll figure out what works for both of us.

Now that I’ve said all that, if you want to buy now and start at a later date, email me first and let’s work out a start date for you that works for both of us.

I’m generally open to clients delaying their start date, but I need to check my calendar and current clients’ timelines first to make sure there’s no conflict. If we agree on a different date and you then purchase, that’s your locked-in start date and the 10 months begins then.

Most people who put in consistent effort write their book in 2-3 months, spend another 2-3 months getting it ready for publishing, and launch about 2 months after that. So you’re looking at roughly 6-8 months from start to published book if you keep steady momentum.

The program runs for 10 consecutive months, which gives you built-in flexibility. If it takes you 4 months to write instead of 3, or you need to pause for a launch or client work, you’ve got room to breathe. The only time-sensitive piece is getting your book into presale by month 9 and published by month 10 so you can take full advantage of the post-launch support—that’s where we shift from “write your book” to “leverage your book for the opportunities you chose in your Strategy Stack.”

During those 10 months, you get:

  • Twice-monthly 30-minute strategy calls
  • Voxer access Monday-Thursday for real-time support
  • Developmental feedback on chapter submissions, one per week

Your Voxer access and strategy calls stay available for the full 10 months regardless of your pace.  After your 10 months end, you keep lifetime access to both programs (5-Star Book Map and Publish & Prosper). If you want ongoing support beyond that, I’ve got retainer options we can discuss.

Yes, as long as you’re submitting work consistently throughout your 10 months. You get developmental feedback on each chapter you submit from a professional developmental editor on my team, and I review every edit before it comes back to you, so you’re building a strong manuscript from the start instead of hoping it all comes together at the end.

This ongoing chapter-by-chapter feedback is what saves you $3,600 in developmental editing fees and prevents the nightmare of finishing a manuscript only to learn it needs a complete rewrite. I’ll guide your writing, help you shape your stories, make sure your frameworks connect clearly, and catch problems early when they’re easy to fix.

Once your manuscript is complete, the Signature and VIP tiers include professional line editing and copy editing for books up to 60,000 words—which is slightly above the reader preference and industry average for business books (around 50,000 words).

VIP also includes a professional proofread after the edit. In Signature, I recommend you proofread the final version yourself and have a few trusted colleagues read it with fresh eyes, or hire a separate proofreader at that point.

Plan for 5-10 hours per week during your active writing phase—usually 1-2 hours per day. Some clients batch this into longer sessions a few times a week, while others spread it across daily writing blocks. Both work.

The program adapts to your rhythm because you have 10 full months of support. Use the early months for concept development and strategic planning if you’re in a busy season. Ramp up your writing when your schedule opens up. The only requirement is consistent engagement—submitting work for feedback, showing up to calls, using your Voxer access when you’re stuck.

Most clients find this pace lets them make steady progress without sacrificing their business or sanity.

Author Alchemy combines self-paced learning with intensive 1:1 personal support:

Self-Paced Program Access: Both the 5-Star Book Map and Publish & Prosper programs live in your private portal. Watch the training modules on your schedule, then use your calls and Voxer time with me for strategic decisions, personalized brainstorming, and getting unstuck on your specific book.

Personal 1:1 Support: Twice-monthly 30-minute strategy calls. Use Voxer Monday-Thursday to ask the vulnerable questions you can’t ask in front of strangers, get real-time feedback, and maintain momentum between calls.

Developmental Feedback: Submit chapters, outlines, and key pieces throughout your 10 months for a professional developmental editor on my team to edit and for me to review. This ongoing feedback is what prevents the nightmare scenario of finishing a manuscript only to learn it needs a complete rewrite.

Done-For-You Services (Signature and VIP): Your professional publishing services (editing, cover design, interior formatting, distribution setup, sales copy) are handled by me or my trusted editors as you reach those stages. No coordinating with multiple vendors or figuring out technical overwhelm alone.

Yes, you have “life of the program” access to both the 5-Star Book Map and Publish & Prosper program content. This means you’ll have access so long as the content in the programs is still relevant and being sold publicly, and so long as I’m running this business (though I have no intentions of closing the program or my business!). Your access is guaranteed through the end of your 10 months at minimum.

After your personal support period ends, the program materials remain available for reference if you want to write additional books or refresh your memory on any techniques.

However, your 10 months of personal support—Voxer access, strategy calls, developmental feedback and done-for-you services—are specific to your contracted period and don’t extend beyond those 10 months, unless you choose to purchase additional support after your initial period ends.

Author Alchemy is designed for established entrepreneurs with proven methodologies—coaches, consultants, speakers, workshop hosts, etc. who’ve built profit-generating businesses with signature offers that actually work. You’re making consistent $7K+ months and have clients who get results from working with you.

You’re a great fit if you help people in the B2B or B2C space with a method, framework, or approach you’ve developed and tested. You’re ready to turn that expertise into a book that works as a permanent sales asset—bringing in high-ticket inquiries while you’re focused on client work or taking an actual vacation.

You want to write commercial nonfiction—business, leadership, how-to, self-help, personal growth, spiritual, finance, etc.—that gives readers genuine value and makes them think “I need to work with you” instead of “I got what I needed, thanks.”

This program works best if you’re ready to invest in true partnership rather than DIY-ing your way through another half-finished manuscript you never actually publish. You value expert guidance throughout your journey and 1:1 support where you never have to share vulnerable details with strangers in group calls. You want the done-for-you services (editing, cover, formatting, sales copy) handled so you can focus on writing your book, not coordinating vendors.

This isn’t the right thing for you to focus on if you haven’t started a business yet, or your business isn’t bringing in clients already. You need real experience first before writing your best book. A book cannot “save” your business sales or fix your visibility problems. It’s an expansion upon the marketing work you’ve already built in your business.

This program isn’t designed for fiction writers, academic or scientific nonfiction, or pure memoir without business application. If you’re writing a hybrid memoir—one that weaves your story with actionable lessons and frameworks readers can apply—that’s welcome here. But if you’re writing a straight memoir focused purely on your personal journey, or research-heavy academic work, those require different approaches than what I teach. I’m happy to connect you with coaches who specialize in those genres if that’s what you’re creating.

This isn’t for you if you want to write a book with A.I., work in affiliate marketing, or master resell rights type of content. I work best with authors who have their own experiences, processes, methodologies, and frameworks to share—not repurposed content from other people’s thinking.

Then you’re in exactly the right place. Most of my Author Alchemy clients have attempted books before—they’ve got folders full of half-written chapters, abandoned outlines, or manuscripts that lost momentum somewhere around chapter four.

Here’s what’s different:

First, you’re not doing this alone. You have consistent accountability through Voxer, strategy calls, and developmental feedback that keeps you moving forward instead of spiraling into doubt.

Second, you’re building your book with a strategic framework that gives you structure without being cookie-cutter. When you know exactly what each chapter needs to accomplish for both your reader AND your business, writing becomes clearer. You’re not sitting there wondering if you’re doing it right—you know exactly where you’re going.

Third, you get real-time support when you hit the inevitable stuck points. That moment when you think “this is terrible and I should just give up” is exactly when you Vox me and I help you see what you can’t see yet. The accountability and expert guidance is what transforms “I’ve started three books” into “I’m a published author.”

Not at all. Many Author Alchemy clients come in with either too many book ideas or a vague sense of “I should write a book about my work but not sure which direction to take it” without clarity on which book will actually grow their business.

That’s exactly what our early strategy work addresses. We’ll use your first call and Voxer conversations to nail down your perfect book concept, identify your Strategy Stack (what you want your book to DO for your business), and ensure you’re writing the RIGHT book—not just A book.

However, you do need to have your business methodology figured out. If you’re still building the foundations of your signature framework or testing your offers, focus there first. If you’ve got happy clients and you’ve got a general “sense” of your framework and methodology, we can absolutely perfect it within our strategy work, and in fact, that’s part of the program! The book works best when it’s capturing and positioning expertise you’ve already proven with real clients.

This is one of the most common fears—and it’s exactly what we strategically address throughout the entire program.

A good book doesn’t give away your paid program. It delivers on its specific promise, creates real transformation, and motivates readers to implement. Some people will DIY from there and be perfectly happy. Others will experience what’s possible and want more from you specifically—that’s when they reach out about your paid programs.

The key is knowing exactly where to draw that line—and that’s built into the Book Mapping process.

We’ll work together to identify what belongs in your book versus what stays in your paid offers. In general, your book proves you know what you’re talking about. Your paid programs deliver the customized guidance that makes it work for each person’s specific situation.

Plus, I’ll audit every call-to-action in your book during developmental feedback to ensure you’re bridging readers to your offers without being salesy or giving people the ick. The goal is conversion without desperation.

If you’re asking about traditional publishing—no. No one can guarantee that, and if anyone promises you a traditional deal, run.

For self-publishing, yes—if you complete your manuscript and follow through on the program, you’ll become a published author. In Signature and VIP, we handle: professional editing, cover design, interior formatting, distribution setup, sales copy, and launch strategy. In Coaching, Publish & Prosper walks you through each of those steps, and we make the decisions together on our calls. In every tier, writing the book is your part, and I teach you how to do it, step by step.

Whether your book succeeds (traditionally or self-published) depends on four things:

  • The quality of your writing
  • The clarity of your idea and how well it’s shown in your book
  • Whether your book is “to market”—meaning it’s something people care about (we work on this together)
  • Your perseverance in getting it into the world

I can’t control those for you—I can only guide you. What I can guarantee is that I’ll give you and your book my complete dedication to make it as good as it can possibly be. But you’ve still got to do the work and market your book to readers, libraries, bookstores, (and if desired: publishers) to get it off the ground.

If you self-publish (which I believe is the best choice for most business authors) and stay on track with your syllabus, then creating the plan to publish and launch your book is built into this program. You finish your 10 months as a published authority, not someone still sitting on a manuscript.

You’ll receive a receipt for your purchase, and I’ll follow up the next business day (or sooner if I’m at my desk) with your contract. Please sign and return the contract within 24 hours.

You’ll get immediate access to Module 1 of the 5-Star Book Map in your private course portal so you can start working on your book concept right away. After 7 days, the remaining Book Map modules and the complete Publish & Prosper program unlock. You’ll also receive your onboarding form where you’ll tell me about your book concept, business goals, biggest challenges, and how you like to work. This helps me tailor my support to your specific needs.

Your personal support begins the Monday following your purchase. You’ll schedule your first strategy call during onboarding and start your Voxer access so you can start asking questions and getting unstuck in real-time.

Most clients who stay engaged throughout the program publish within 7-8 months from start, which gives them several months of launch and post-launch support to leverage their new authority strategically.

If you reach the end of your 10 months and want continuing support, I have several options for past clients to continue working together in one capacity or another (both “light support” Voxer-only options and “full support” similar to what you received during your initial 10 months). We’ll find a retainer that works for you.

Damn Good Book ($3,497) is my 90-day group program. You learn the strategic book-writing system, join two group calls a month that mix coaching with writing time, and get two private calls with me: the Book Promise Call and the Book Outline Audit. Great if you want structure and other authors writing alongside you.

Publish & Prosper ($2,497) is the self-paced course that takes your finished manuscript through professional publishing. Perfect if you’ve already written your book and want a step-by-step guide to publishing decisions, launch strategy, and turning your book into a revenue-generating asset.

Author Alchemy 1:1 Coaching & Publishing (3 tiers: Coaching $10,997, Signature $18,997, VIP $25,997) is 10 months of working with me one-on-one, from your first idea to a published book that brings in the clients, stages, and partnerships you chose at the start. It includes the 5-Star Book Map and Publish & Prosper, plus:

  • Twice-monthly 30-minute strategy calls
  • Voxer access Monday through Thursday, so you can ask the questions you’d never ask in a group and get unstuck between calls
  • Developmental feedback on a chapter, outline, or key section every week, so problems get caught while they’re still easy to fix
  • Done-for-you publishing in Signature and VIP: line and copy editing for up to 60,000 words, cover design, interior formatting, distribution setup, and sales copy
  • Launch strategy and post-launch business coaching, so your book starts bringing in the opportunities you chose in your Strategy Stack

Clients who keep steady momentum usually publish in 6 to 8 months, which leaves time inside the 10 months to put the book to work.

The biggest difference is that the other programs teach you the system so you can implement it with group support or on your own. Author Alchemy gives you the strategist. You get my brain, my publishing industry knowledge, and my personal attention ensuring your book doesn’t just get finished—it gets positioned to generate the specific opportunities you want for years to come.

You have 7 days to access Module 1 of the 5-Star Book Map, start your Voxer access, and have your first strategy call with Holly. If within those 7 days you decide you don’t want to write a book, let me know immediately and I will issue a prorated refund or cancel future payments based on this structure:

  • If you paid in full: You’ll receive a refund minus one-tenth of your tier’s price, which covers onboarding, portal setup, and the strategic preparation specific to your book.
  • If you’re on the payment plan: You can cancel future payments. The first payment is non-refundable as it covers onboarding and initial program setup.

After 7 days, all sales are final.

When you’re my client, I’m fully invested in your success—I’m committing 10 months of intensive personal attention, strategic guidance, and done-for-you services specifically to your book and business. I expect you to show up just as committed to getting a Damn Good Book out in the world. The work requires both of us to be all in. That time and energy investment can’t be undone.

The 7-day window is not to “test-drive” the program. If you’re uncertain whether this is the right investment for where you are in business right now, book a discovery call before purchasing so we can discuss your situation and goals. Make this decision with confidence, not fear.

No worries! Send an email and I’ll be happy to answer. You can also book a discovery call first if you’d rather talk face-to-face in Zoom.

You've been waiting long enough.

Every day your ideas stay scattered across presentations, client sessions, and content that disappears in 24 hours, you’re missing the opportunities that come to people with books. The speaking gigs, media coverage, and premium clients who prefer working with published authorities.

You know what happens when you keep pushing this to next quarter, next year, or “when things settle down.” (Spoiler: things don’t settle down. They get busier.) The opportunities keep going to the people who took action while you stayed in planning mode.

When you finally give your expertise the strategic home it deserves, speaking opportunities start coming to you instead of you pitching for them. Clients arrive already sold on your methodology and ready to invest. Your rates stop getting questioned because your published authority speaks for itself.

Ten months from now, you can either be holding your professionally published book that’s already bringing in speaking opportunities and high-ticket inquiries—or you can still be watching others get the recognition and opportunities your expertise deserves.

Your ideas are ready. Your business is ready. The only question left is whether you’re ready to stop being everyone’s best-kept secret.

As with any personal growth program your results with Author Alchemy may vary from these consumer testimonials. Your results will be based on variables such as your level of effort, personal qualities, knowledge, skills, and a host of other factors. Since these factors differ for each individual, Books & Alchemy LLC cannot guarantee your success or results, nor is Books & Alchemy LLC responsible for your success or failure. Author Alchemy is not a “magic bullet” for writing or publishing your book. It takes effort and dedication. Books & Alchemy LLC provides you with a process to write your book and these students agree.
